Palestinian Dinner Party with James Beard-Nominated Best Chef, Great Lakes: Omar Anani
If you’re into culture, music, bohemian decor, and inventive flavors, Chef Omar Anani of Detroit’s Moroccan gem, Saffron De Twah, isn’t just your guy — he’s the guy.
A classically French-trained chef that’s half Egyptian and half Palestinian, Omar has just been selected as part of this year’s 2022 James Beard Awards Restaurant and Chef finalists, single-handedly representing Detroit in the Best Chef: Great Lakes category.
We’re beyond smitten to welcome him back into the Frame kitchen for one night only, when chef will bring a truly stunning tasting menu that reflects his unique style, marrying roots and locality to breathtaking invention.
Think: five courses of Palestinian cuisine served up with characteristic panache by the man himself, including Musakhan, a staple Palestinian slow-cooked chicken dish smothered in silky onions and bright, lemony sumac, and Qatayef, a Levantine sweet-dumpling dessert.
Let’s join Omar at the Frame tables before he heads to Chicago for The James Beard Restaurant and Chef Awards ceremony on June 13th.
