A Longman and Eagle GastroPub Takeover
Chicago Gastropub Longman and Eagle’s fare is as lusted over as their whiskey program. So when they offered up a weekend to get away from their abode and come to ours to host an inventive eating and drinking pairing, our enthusiasm was an earnest Heck, YES!!
The kids will almost be out on summer break, college graduation will be behind us by then. This is the ultimate excuse for a dinner party. Not that we really need one.

( first ) Spring Pea Salad smoked aged ham, ricotta, grilled sourdough, fermented ramp with pairing Westland American Single Malt
( second ) Smoked Trout Brandade brie, pickles, semolina baguette with pairing Old Pogue Master’s Select Small Batch Bourbon
( third ) Gulf Shrimp green garbanzo, roasted tomato vinaigrette, garlic, strained yogurt with pairing Pikesville Rye
( last but not least ) Foie Gras strawberries and cream, pecan, fava leaves with pairing Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend Bourbon
